Adam Edwards, President of Telarus, has written a very insightful blog article pointing out that there is a significant variable that explains why some countries like Japan and Korea seem more advanced than the USA in broadband access, speed and pricing. The variable is population density and it has been overlooked by many in the mainstream media, e.g., David Carr of the New York Times in his article titled Telecom's Big Players Hold Back the Future. See Adam's complete blog entry You Are My Density for a more complete analysis.
